Chairperson’s Message

I am pleased to welcome you to the newly designed web page of the Prince Albert Community Service Centre.  Our web page is an important tool through which we can share information on our programs and services.  I hope that you like our new look and the changes in our web page.
As I am sure you’ve noticed, our home page now proudly displays several areas of our expertise.  We are honoured to provide a wide range of social services for Prince Albert residents since 1968 while working with many community partners and volunteers to achieve our mandate.

I want to thank my fellow Board members for their many contributions to the governance of the Centre.  Our strategic planning process, initiated in February 2016 drew on the wisdom and experience of Staff and Board. This set a road map of our priorities for this year and years looking forward.  I would like to highlight a few changes to our Board of Directors. In 2015/16, we welcomed three new Directors who will bring their expertise to our deliberations:  Conrad Burns, Eleanor George and Prudence McKenzie.  With regrets, we said farewell to long time board members, Barb Gustafson, Tracey Meyers and Marilyn Peterson.

The Centre has continued to provide its core services under contract with the province of Saskatchewan Labour Market Services, the Ministry of Social Services, the city of Prince Albert and SARCAN.  These partnerships allow us to continue to provide many essential services to residents of Prince Albert and the program details are found in this website.

The community has continued to support our Two Miles for Mary campaign.  Our greatest thanks and gratitude go to Jim Pattison Broadcast Group (Saskatchewan Country CKBI)  volunteers and our community support for the support to the Seniors Transportation program.

Finally, I want to thank the Centre management and staff for your dedication and commitment to providing high quality services for residents of Prince Albert.  The value of these services is at the heart of our organization and your contributions improve the quality of life for those whom we serve.  I am honoured to serve as Chairperson for the Centre.

My commitment is to do the very best I can in serving the Centre’s goals.  Again, I am pleased to welcome you to our new website!

Bill Powalinsky
Every day we meet people and have the privilege of working with them to meet their goals.  Every day our client’s success stories profile how we are meeting the needs of the ever-changing job market, our clients, our local economy, our employers and our community.
By providing the varied array of services and programs, we are doing our part to ensure we are contributing in a positive way to the quality of life of the individuals we serve.
We believe that people have the right to explore their career opportunities and potential.
We believe that people with limited access to transportation have the right to be included in the community.
We believe that our recycling program is doing its part to promote the three “E”s; Employment creation, Environmental protection and Economic development.
Our group of dedicated staff and volunteers take pride in the quality of service we provide.  We make a difference at the Community Service Centre - it’s our job and it’s what we do.
