Client Recollections
Over the years, the CSC has gained recognition not only from the City but our clients as well. Here is a collection of recollections from our past clients.
Brenda's Work Prep storyMelanie provided me with a great deal of encouragement, support and assistance in updating my resume and helping me to engage in a job search. I greatly appreciated her optimism and follow through while helping me meet my goals for this challenging endeavor. I have a great deal of appreciation for her assistance.
Beverly's BCP success storyLike many individuals in 2021, Beverly found herself in financial crisis due to collecting Canada Emergency Relief Benefit for several months the previous year and non-payment of rent or utilities. When Beverly started on Budget Counselling in June 2021, she was owing $13,228.44 between rent arrears, water, power and natural gas. Power and gas had been disconnected months before and Beverly was issued an eviction notice. Beverly is an independent individual who was hesitant about the program in the beginning but working with Beverly and explaining the importance of monthly payments to debt, no matter how big or small, seeing her debt slowly decrease has made her hopeful.
Since Beverly has been on Budget Counselling, we were able to find her housing with utilities included for herself and her granddaughter. We have paid $2,148.95 towards SaskPower and city water, with water being now paid in full. Beverly currently owes $2641.45 for power and gas combined, which we estimate will be paid in full within 12 months. |

"Hello my name is Kelly Vandale and I’ve been using this program for a few weeks and I have found a FT job in what I have training in. Without this program and staff I would have never been able to do this on my own. They helped pay for my CPIC which was 70 dollars and without employment there was no way of paying for it myself. The staff here are awesome, they will help you in any way they can to help you find employment. Resumes, Cover letters, and costs, without the help of staff there was NO WAY I’d be able to do this on my own, There is a need for this in Prince Albert and I’m so fortunate to be able to be helped to help myself. THANK YOU" |
Testimonial of David Bock - TIOW
I found my experience with the CSC to be very rewarding, informative, and successful. The first day I was there, I met with Taleah and she was very helpful in getting me started. She helped me create a resume and informed me of other services available within the CSC. She recommended me for the TIOW program where I met Mark and Karen. Karen was very easy to learn from, patient with older people who had much to learn about job searching and computer skills. ( acquired a lot of skills at the CSC that I never thought I would have, like Microsoft word, making a PDF, and searching different websites for employment. Mark was also very helpful in making sure that things continued smoothly, and he was helpful in obtaining my PTA and a bus pass, as well as creating an email.
I feel that the counsellors at the CSC are very motivational and "no one is here just for the job, but they really want to help."
Mine is a story of success as I have already secured employment and I continue to job search and utilize the skills that I have learned to continue improving.
I was also very appreciative of the financial supports that I received at the Community Service Center, such as work boots.

PASE success stories
I want to express our extreme gratitude to PASE for the help Tyler received from this wonderful program. Back in 2003, Tyler was one of the first clients of this program (in fact, on the advice of our counsellor at Prince Albert Community Service Centre, we waited a few months until the program opened, because she felt it would be a perfect fit for Tyler). In October 2003, Tyler began his job at Safeway with the help of a job coach from PASE. I’m quite certain that Tyler would not have been successful in obtaining this employment without the help of PASE.
Tyler has remained employed at Safeway since 2003! In 2021, during the pandemic, Tyler’s duties changed and it was felt that he could use a job coach again to learn his new duties. Upon contacting PASE, we were very pleased to hear that they would indeed provide a job coach to help Tyler understand what was now expected of him. He was provided with a very pleasant and understanding job coach and he learned very well from her. After a month, he was once again able to work on his own, using the knowledge he had received from the PASE job coach.
Thank you so much to PA Community Service Centre and Prince Albert Supported Employment Program. You have truly made a difference in Tyler’s life.

“My name is Melissa I am the supervisor of an adult group home here in Prince Albert. I have had two clients see Regan with the PASE program. This program has been very beneficial for both of these clients.
Regan was able to help one client get a job with the PA Shopper stuffing flyers. This particular job was not a good fit for this client, Regan was there every step of the way with him and help him transition to a paper delivery job which has been very successful for him for almost 9 months. After he was able to obtain the paper delivery job for a few months Regan helped get this client into KIN where he was working with the wires. He was able to work at KIN workshop for a while but later transition to another KIN program. This particular client continues to be successful with his two job all because of the help and support Regan and the PASE program has provided him. My other client who sees Regan was able to get a job at SARCAN which he was successful at but unfortunately, they did not have a position open for him. Regan helped this client get accepted into the Way to Work program. While he waits for this program to start Regan still continues to work closely with him to get him a job.”
