Testimonials
I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for the CSC partnerships with the Carlton integrated classroom work experience program. This program plays a crucial role in fostering inclusiveness, personal growth, and community engagement, ensuring that every participant has the chance to showcase their talents and contribute positively to the workforce.
As the primary guardian of my nephew, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that access to employment has had on him. The confidence, independence, and financial stability gained through this opportunity is immeasurable. There is such a sense of pride he has in his job, and the smile he had when he got his very first paycheck ever was so heartwarming. It’s more than just a job for him- it’s a chance to feel included and successful.
This has given my nephew not only provides essential training and job placement assistance but confidence and stability for him. His path has not been an easy one, and this work experience has had such a positive impact on him. By supporting this program, we are investing in a future where everyone, regardless of ability, has an opportunity to thrive.
I am confident that with continued support, this initiative will have a lasting impact on not only my nephew but other countless lives. Thank you for your time and consideration. Please do not hesitate to reach out if further information is needed.
Sincerely,
- Kim Daniels

It is with great appreciation and enthusiasm that I write this letter of reference on behalf of the Prince Albert Community Service Centre. As a teacher in the Independent Futures Program at Carlton Comprehensive High School, I have had the privilege of working closely with the Centre over the past year, and I can confidently say that their contributions to our program and students have been nothing short of exceptional.
The Prince Albert Community Service Centre has been an invaluable partner in creating meaningful and inclusive work experience opportunities for students in our program—young individuals with cognitive and intellectual disabilities who are eager to contribute to their community. The staff at the Centre have consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that students are not only placed in suitable work environments but are also supported throughout the process in a respectful and empowering manner.
They have taken the time to walk staff and families through the often complex transition-to-work process, providing reassurance, resources, and continuous encouragement. Their compassionate and person-centered approach has helped our students gain confidence, independence, and a genuine sense of belonging within the workforce.
The Centre’s commitment to building inclusive communities and promoting independence for all individuals is evident in every interaction. They are making a lasting impact in Prince Albert by helping individuals achieve greater self-reliance and by fostering a more accepting and diverse workplace culture across our city.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Prince Albert Community Service Centre and are deeply grateful for the role they play in shaping brighter futures for our students and our community.
Sincerely,
- Rachel Lavigne

I have had the fortunate opportunity to work closely with Jill Holmes in helping my resident, Nick with disabilities, achieve a goal of getting a paying Job. Jill worked closely with me and Nick to go through questions and find out what his likes and dislikes are, in order to find a job that would be the right fit for him. Sarcan was the right fit.
Nick was hesitant at the beginning and struggled to find the encouragement to attend his first few days of his new Job with Sarcan. That didn't stop Jill from advocating for him and getting him a job coach to ensure he felt valued and not alone.
Jill and Cody have been so great with Nick and encouraged him to go to work twice a week by being in his corner, being the friend and coach he needed to find the courage to attend a new job. It was scary for him at first but he has now built a great relationship with Cody and Jill and is able to joke around with them and feels comfortable and open to speaking about his likes and dislikes and his goals for the future.
I highly recommend the services Community Service Centre provides to those who struggle with getting a job, especially when having a disability. They welcomed Nick with open arms and didn't falter when Nick was not willing to participate at first. They kept the communication open and were willing to think outside the box and provided Nick with the necessary tools to get him out of his slump.
